Worthington Foods issues a call for entries in the "Taste of Goodness" recipe contest


Battle Creek, Mich. (January 12, 2001) – Worthington Foods, in conjunction with Pacific Press, and Adventist Book Centers/food markets is calling all vegetarian cooks. Your favorite dish could win you and three guests a trip to historic Battle Creek, Michigan for the "Taste of Goodness" Recipe Contest Cook-Off.

The "Taste of Goodness" Recipe contest is calling for original recipes using Worthington®, Natural Touch® and/or Loma Linda® products. The recipes will be judged on taste, consumer appeal, appearance and creativity and must contain no more than 15 ingredients. The contest is open to all residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age. While no purchase is necessary to enter or win, each recipe entry must be submitted in the designated location at participating Adventist Book Centers and food markets between January 15 and March 16, 2001. Four Grand Prizes will be awarded, consisting of a five night trip for four people to the "Taste of Goodness" Cook-Off held on July 2, 2001 in Battle Creek, Michigan (valued at $5,700). Included in the trip will be excursions to historic Seventh-day Adventist and Kellogg sites in Battle Creek. During their stay, winners will also have the opportunity to see the Battle Creek International Hot Air Balloon Championships and Air Show. The winner of the Cook-Off will receive a one-year supply of Worthington®, Natural Touch® and/or Loma Linda® products, valued at $1,000

As part of an on-going marketing alliance between Pacific Press and Worthington Foods, one hundred honorary mention prizes of the Sabbath Dinner Cookbook will also be awarded. This new cookbook from Pacific Press, slated for release in March, features recipes collected by a grandmother, mother and daughter trio, and contains $17.50 worth of coupons for popular Worthington®, Loma Linda®, and Natural Touch® food items. In addition, Pacific Press has agreed to publish the winning recipes in an upcoming new cookbook.
